Wassup Course Correctors! It’s been a minute, a looooong one! I’d been on a process, and promised we’d resume publishing today, the 6th of July 2024.

Today- and most of this season, I’ll be sharing with you some of the lessons I’m Learning, and my reflections from them.

One of the greatest pieces of advice I’ve heard this season, that really challenged me has been, “Stop marketing yourself, it’s a waste of time”.

In our LinkedIn and Instgram world where self promotion, and “branding” are marketed as the bare minimum survival tools, you couldn’t imagine how counterintuitive that advice feels. And yet how true it is! So below, is an elaboration of that lesson, my personal reflections integrated.

“Stop marketing yourself, it’s a waste of time. Focus on building yourself instead.”

Build your knowledge base. Build your relationship with God. Build your personal disciplines, that men cannot necessarily observe. Build your relationship with yourself. Learn patience. Learn self love.

Learn to hear God. Learn to know how God speaks to you. Learn your heart. Learn your mind. Learn your thought patterns. Learn the biases you hold against yourself. Learn your heart.

Observe your internal language. Observe what’s true about what you believe about yourself, and what’s not. Observe what you believe about the world verses what’s true from the knowledge you’re building in your secret, private place.

Don't market yourself. It's a waste of time.

A time comes when a man that’s built themselves up cannot be ignored. So build the evidence of the fact that you indeed are worthy of the attention you shall command . Build reasons that can justify your Faith and philosophies in life. Build that now.

When you come into the light, be worthy of the attention you shall command. Build that worthiness now.

Do not market yourself. It is a waste of time if you couldn't defend the attention you want now.

Build your stamina. Incubate your personal beliefs and convictions. Incubate your beliefs so much so that you shall not be easily swayed to the right or to the left when the storms come.

Build a love relationship with yourself. Investigate your thoughts as against what God says about you. As against who God says you are. Incubate that relationship. Incubate that hope. Water that truth about who you really are. The hype is enticing, but only men that can stand the test of time really remain standing.

You’ve been through so much to get attention only to fizzle out when it comes down to it because you never built the stamina needed to remain standing.

You've been through so much to end up standing only only for a short time because you got exposed prematurely.

The Hype is enticing, but the goal is to stand, to outlast, to never go out like a candle that fizzled out. The goal is to outlast. The goal is to command attention because there is something worthy of being reckoned with inside us.

So take time to observe your heart. Take time to observe your soul. Spend time with the you that hasn't delivered the kind of life or results you thought you'd have wanted by now.

Take time. Observe that tree of life in the middle of your heart. You can uproot the entire old one and nurture a new one.

Change is good, and there’s no shame in it. Change is good and there no shame in needing to change. There’s no shame in needing to take time to build so you could come correct.

There is no shame in starting over.

In the next article, I have a gift for us … what’s with all this harassment of a sense of urgency that leaves us more depressed than encouraged? Is that really from God?
